The Hi-Desert Nature Museum invites the public to an opening reception for The Journey is the Destination: 100 Years of Route 66. The exhibit invites visitors to experience Route 66 through both sight and scent. Alongside the panoramic color photography of Andy Romanoff and Brian Helder, the exhibition uses scent, led by Sofia Collette Ehrich, The Olfactory Contractor, as a tool to interpret the people, places, memories and culture of America's Main Street.
The reception will begin at 4:00 p.m. with a presentation and Q&A session with showcased photographer Andy Romanoff. Following this session, The Olfactory Contractor, Sofia Collette Ehrich, will provide an introduction on scent use in Museums and how scents can deepen visitor connection by bringing historical or natural environments to life.
The reception and presentations are free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
